About

Founded in 2009 by Jason Mesnick, Project Parachute is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to help single parents by providing childcare scholarships and establishing single parent support programs across the nation.

Project Parachute’s goal is to empower single parent families through education, scholarships, support and financial relief. Through both public and private donations, fund-raisers, and on-line donations, we seek to equip single parent households with the tools and support they need to provide for their family.

Childcare Scholarships

Although some single parents qualify for a nominal amount of government aid for childcare, often times the child care facility is far from their home or work place requiring additional travel. Project Parachute provides childcare scholarships for single working parents, or for single parents furthering their education. These scholarships allow the parent to choose a facility they are comfortable with, and in a convenient location as transportation can be a challenge for single parents. “Chute Groups” …Oh chute!

Project Parachute recognizes the need for single parent support programs across the nation. A proactive environment to share and to learn, these “chute group” meetings are designed to bring single parents together to discuss parenting topics and to form a local network of support. Weekly meetings will be held in various locations, with childcare provided where needed.

These meetings are designed to provide a safe place to learn about being a better single parent and discuss the highs and lows of parenting. Volunteer guest speakers cover topics regarding employment, nutrition, transportation, finances, and other pressing issues that single parents face.
